The Christmas Week will be observed in the Parish of the Holy Cross Church, St Cruz with the usual pomp and solemnity. The venue will project the festivity through brightly illuminated arches and stars erected by various wards that constitute the village. Midnight High Mass will be held on December 24 to mark the birth of Christ and December 31 to usher in the New Year - with prayers. A week-long variety entertainment programme by various wards will be presented from December 26-30 from 6.30 pm onwards. The programmes include carols, skits, songs and a novel introduction of enacting a traditional Goan scenario specialty related to a Goan wedding, like Resper, Vhorr, Portonnem, Xim, Vhojem, Chuddo, Dennem, Jevonn, etc. The daily programme shall be enhanced by famous Goan stage performers like Wilmix and Sharon, Anthony San, Ben Evangelisto. Fancy dress for all age groups will be held on December 30. The week-long programme culminates with grand ward wise serenade on the New Year’s Day with each ward depicting a Christmas carol with the introduction of colour scheme to each ward. The curtains will come down with playing of a Brass Band.
