It is proving easy to send money for relief purposes but difficult to send necessary clothing which has now peaked into several mountains in centres in the UK.
My friends and I have been keen to send collected packages of clothes to specific target groups in India and Sri Lanka. We know that if it goes to local charities the clothing may never reach the intended target but get circulated back within the UK.
OXFAM now promises to send clothes to target groups but is utterly overwhelmed to the point where it needs a thousand or more volunteers to help them out.
Are there any suggestions for quickly dispatching clothing where it is most needed?
