Yetha or Vetha rre? "Are Ya Coming or Going?"
Dialogue on Goanet after sometime grows on a person - both the topics and the individuals whose philosophy one appears to understand. So while we may (sometimes vehemently) oppose the other person, we begin to love them for their intelligence or their humor or both. After-all, without a contrarian's viewpoint with whom would one argue? So ironically the person(s) one may disagree with, perhaps also becomes one's "fan club". When one follows a person on GoaNet, sometimes it becomes obvious that the individual is 'speaking form both sides of their mouth'. We'll let Domnic to give us the idiom in 'Amchi bhas'.
In today's Goanet news-digests I discovered two such individuals.
One individual posted a few days ago his strong opposition to the new
Goa airport. Today, the same educates us with two downloaded posts
describing the woeful inadequacy of airports in India and the need for
newer and larger airports. Examples are given of how we can emulate a
third world neighbor - China. The same person, then posts an interview
with the Tourism Minister of Goa who is not too keen on the new Goa
airport. He writes, "The hon. Tourism Minister does not seem to attach
much importance to the techno-feasibility study being contracted out to
ICAO of Montreal Canada and which is due to begin in a week in Goa.
Well, at least it may have served the purpose of letting govt. officials
go on foreign jaunts to Canada at our expense. :("Perhaps the reason the Minister is expressing his hesitancy to the newer Goa airport is because he wants the good graces (and votes) of those against the airport. So can the ganv-bhavs and ganv-bhoinis; ani Shris ani Shriamtis; and Senhoras and Senhoritas have a consistent stand if not a united voice on Goa's progress? :=)) Natives keep confusing poreigners and on occasion give us sleepless nights with 'tho Yetha or Vetha Rre?' :=)):=)) Looks like the politicians do a good job in representing! Hahaha:=))
The other individual's contrarian views will have to wait for manhana. I have done my duty of contributing to cyberGoa for today. My fan club cannot complain that they didn't hear from me. :=))
