Today's HERALD carries a front page news item on the Skybus. It provides an
update on the reasons for the accident during the test run. In addition to
the grease-on-the-test track problem mentioned by the KRC's MD in a TOI
interview recently he now also lists the following: 1) a computer glitch
(software? hardware?)over distance measurement, 2) malfunctioning mechanical
brake causing the emergency brake to be used, 3) "short" (i.e.sharp?)
curvature of the test track.

It seems that one of the measures to be employed in future will be that of
using a motorman to control the coach. Auto drive will begin after three
months.
Moreover, in the post-accident scenario, the plan is to certify the skybus
project under railway safety provisions for which a visit by the Railway
Safety Commissioner was due shortly. This was to facilitate adoption by
states. KRC has reportedly identified a total of 950 route km in the country
where the technology "could be implemented".
