(1) The name of the old capital is not GOA VELHA but VELHA GOA. Goa Velha was the capital of Goa during the time of the Kadamba kings, with the name of Govapuri or Govakapattana. Velha Goa (now Old Goa) was, before the Portuguese conquest of Tiswadi, the capital of Adil Shah's Goa, built in a place called Ela. (2) If I am not mistaken, there is a slight error in the name of one of the contributing experts: it should be Paulo (and not Paula) Varela Gomes. Jorge
