The New Year is already upon us, and we at The Goan Forum take this opportunity to look back at identifying an individual or a set of individuals who have made the most distinctive contribution to Goa in the year 2004.
This contribution does not necessarily have to be a beneficial contribution, only one which has been most distinctive.
We intend to name the persona (personae) on January 30, 2005 - the anniversary of the murder of the Mahatma Gandhi - the world's best known proponent of non-violent Struggle against Oppression. ( I would have said "senseless murder", but then which murder - is sensible? )

BTW: It is this Gandhian non-violent Struggle that brought down Apartheid in South Africa & many parts of Racism in the US - thanks mainly to the sacrifices of Nelson Mandela & Martin Luther King respectively.
This past Monday - was Martin Luther King day.
Was hoping to see a few words about Martin Luther King and his struggle for democratic rights from "people of colour" .
