Tariq does not understand how those opposing the liberation of Iraq are in solidarity with the brutal Iraqi insurgents and are providing them with support. He very nicely asks me to take the time to explain how this works and I will be glad to do so.
Mario patiently tries to explain: I thought no one would ever ask how this works. It's all in the meaning of the word solidarity, yaar. The word means: A union of interests, purposes, or sympathies among members of a group; fellowship of responsibilities and interests. Haroon Siddiqui and you oppose the liberation of Iraq. Al Zarqawi opposes the liberation of Iraq. Ipso facto: A "fellowship of interests" is created. Eureka, You all have Solidarity!!! QED Regarding actually supporting the insurgency, this works through something called moral support. When someone is risking their lives in order to provide basic freedoms to a population that has never had it before, and 80% of said population are eager to vote, a relentless drumbeat of vicious verbal abuse aimed only at those who are dying to facilitate the elections provides moral support to those who are killing people wholesale in an attempt to stop the elections. When mortal combat is going on moral support is invaluable to the combatants who are receiving such support.
