Curtorcares United's draw for 7-a-side football tournament today Curtorcares United will organize the draw for the much awaited 7-a-side football tournament today (15th February 2005) at Kuwait City's Miami Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. The tournament is part of the 10th year grand celebrations of the Curtorcares United in Kuwait. All KIFF-affiliated football clubs representatives are kindly invited to attend the draw. For more info, pls contact the organizers at 9758819. The Curtorcares United football team, sponsored by Siemens Mobile, has won laurels in recent years, both in Kuwait and in Dubai (UAE). In January 2004, Curtorcares won the 27th edition of the United Goans Tournament. On 31st December 2004, Curtorcares United won the exhibition football match played against Kuwait Duty Free-sponsored United Friends Club which was organized by Indian Football Referees Association (IFRA) to bid farewell to one of their founder and long time serving President, A.E. D'Souza, who also is the founder and ex-president of Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF). In January 2003, to mark Kuwait's National Day of Kuwait, Curtorcares United organised one day soccer tournament under KIFF's auspices. The one day festival was compered by Dubai-based Thracha D'Mello, with live commentary and a raffle organized. Under the presidentship of popular social worker, Salvador Dias, Curtorcares United organized the 'Easter Nite' with ex-Goa's Chief Minister Francisco Sardinha specially invited to mark the festivities. Salvador Dias is also the elected representative of KIFF for this season. Curtorcares United are also in the forefront to promote Konkani dramas, upcoming Konkani artistes and music groups. At the last years annual social programme, Rosary Ferns was promoted with the release of his VCD. In 2003, Rafael de Majorda's "Tukaim Tench Rauta" drama was organized under the auspices of Curtorcares United.
