Locals: Parrikar is uncivilised, not even worth to become chaprasi : Cong BY HERALD REPORTER MARGAO, FEB 19: Union Ministers, Mani Shankar Aiyer and Priya Ranjan Das Munshi today lashed at outgoing Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar for calling Governor S C Jamir as a chaprasi and accused the BJP for lacking in morality and decency in public life. While saying that the governor is the greatest patriot of India, the duo called Parrikar an uncivilised human being, who is not even worth to become a chaprasi anywhere. Both Aiyer and Munshi maintained that no one could forget the role of Jamir in keeping the North Eastern State, Nagaland with the motherland. “He (Jamir) braved the threats and bullets of terrorists to keep Nagaland with India. He certainly cannot become a chaparsi”, they said. Das Munshi said “Jamir prefers to serve as a chaprasi to the Indian Constitution, but will never serve the RSS”. Aiyer further said Parrikar was one chief minister, who never acknowledged his letters. “May be he is completely illiterate, or may be, he is a chaprasi”, he said adding that “we need decency in public life”. Iyer said whatever decision the governor took in Goa was purely constitutional and accused the then Parrikar government of subverting the constitution. Both Iyer and Das Munshi came down heavily on BJP leaders, including L K Advani for bringing morality in focus after the dismissal of the Parrikar government. “By clinging to power even after being reduced to a minority, Parrikar has negated all constitutional morality. He should have resigned immediately on moral grounds”, Munshi said Challenging the BJP to bring the Goa issue in the forthcoming session of Parliament, Munshi said “I will teach the BJP morality and niceties in the Lok Sabha”. Referring to sordid episode inside the House on February 2, Munshi said “By bodily lifting Filipe Neri Rodrigues, the BJP has shown the true RSS style” and urged Congressmen not to surrender to the gimmicks of the fascist RSS. Petroleum Minister, Mani Shankar Aiyer said Parrikar should have stepped down if there was any morality left in him the moment four MLAs resigned and two ministers withdrew support to his government. “By clinging to power, Parrikar has neither showed intelligence nor morality”, he added. Saying that evil is inherent in the BJP and RSS people, Aiyer said that democracy is the stumbling block for these forces to take over power. “They fear democracy and numbers”, he said.
