Dear Albertina and other Sancharnet users, I too was terribly unsatisfied with the services of Sancharnet. The e-mail addresses of their subscribers have been changed 4 times in 3 years, the call center staff are rude, customer care centers (especially in Margao), abusive and inefficient and now receiving and sending e-mails via Sancharnet is such a problem, you have to make changes to your e-mail client, mail format and even after that the problems with sending and receiving e-mails persist. A lot of subscribers have complained about this and it seems that the people at Sancharnet simply don't care or are not competent enough to solve this problem.
I'd advise Sancharnet subscribers to do what I did 2 years ago. Shift my ISP to a little more expensive ISP but have none of the e-mail address changes, an e-mail setup that actually 'works', and a 24hour polite customer care center. When TataIndicom had developed a problem with internet connectivity in October 2004, the customer center apologized and made it possible for us to use the services of Dishnet until the problem was identified at the local exchange and immediately resolved. With regard to service and e-mail, I have had no regrets since my switchover to TataIndicom. Suggested ISPs to switchover to, are: TataIndicom/VSNL, Satyam/Sify, Dishnet, and Reliance, and the pricing difference is about Rs. 200-300 more than Sancharnet. Clinton..
