Dear Jorge / Livia, Thanks for clarifying how the candidates for Estado da India were chosen from Portuguese Africa, even after it was liberated in 1961. Was Purxottam Quenim already one of the half dozen Hindus like Coissor� settled in Portugal before 1961? Do you know if he and Albuquerque make any significant contribution on behalf of Goa, Daman and Diu? Were they also members of the so-called Comissariado do Estado da India set up by the Salazar regime to keep up the international campaign to regain Goa!?
