It seems like rather than a "battle" against caste, this is turning out to be a "battle" of trust and motives. I have no idea why Cornel doubts the sincerity of Basilio. On what basis does he mistrust Basilio's motives, if he does, from what Basilio has written on his own approach? How are we supposed to trust anybody's sincerity from what they have written in this forum on the issue of caste? Why are vociferous denunciations and rants against caste more sincere than softer methods of getting rid of it in one's own life first, and gently persuading others to abandon it? How do we know people who project a militant anti-casteist view in public are not casteist apologists in private? After all, hypocrisy is much more widespread, albeit less pernicious, than bigotry. How did this holier-than-thou attitude get mixed up in the fight against casteism? Cheers, Santosh
