Hold fresh polls in Goa: Vajpayee NEW DELHI, March 1: Accusing the Goa governor of murdering democracy, AB Vajpayee on Tuesday demanded dissolution of the assembly and fresh polls in the state. "Democracy has been murdered in Goa. The governor has crossed the limits of his powers and dismissed an elected government," Vajpayee told reporters after a BJP parliamentary party meeting here. (PTI report in Herald)
Comment: Vajpayee should be told to go fly a kite! Parrikar flays Congress govt PANAJI: Former chief minister Manohar Parrikar accused the Congress government of attempting undemocratic means to cling to power by seeking to reduce the strength of his party in the House and trying to review the order of disqualification of Deputy Chief Minister Felipe Neri Rodrigues. (GT) Comment: How rich coming from him, he finds it objectional now that the shoe is on the other foot. Hotel attack case: 2 former ministers chargesheeted MAPUSA: Mapusa police yesterday filed a chargesheet against the former minister and Mapusa MLA Francis D'Souza, former Agriculture Minister Dayanand Mandrekar, MLA Sadanand Shet Tanavade and 15 others in connection with the attack on Hotel Mandarin belonging to Mathew Braganza. It may be recalled that a mob of 80 to 90 led by the aforesaid marched to the hotel on 6 July 2004 and ransacked it damaging the property by pelting stones and bottles. The loss was estimated to be around Rs.1,62,000. (GT) Comment: I was wondering if this would ever be brought up. It seems only a change in the guard would see this happen. It would be a healthy benefit to all, as well as some of the BJP lot if they, like the missing Neri File and form, also got lost. Otherwise they could be heading for the Jail! -- Cheers, Gabe Menezes. London, England
