Macau nets $1.8 bln from gambling tax By Indo-Asian News Service
Macau (China), March 6 (IANS) Macau netted $1.8 billion last year from its vibrant gambling industry, which contributes nearly 70 percent of the local administration's tax income, Xinhua reported.
The gaming industry earned $4.6 billion in gross revenue last year, contributing $1.8 billion to the government's tax coffer.
Macau is the only place in China where gambling is legal.
