I watched it when it was first broadcast in Aug 2003 and again in Nov. 2004. I suggest you check on Tully's standing in India
Mario replies: Eddie, I don't care about SIR Mark Tully's standing in India or anywhere else. I was reacting to your synopsis which described his premise as the end of secularism in India and the victory of Hindu nationalism, which are flat out bovine excrement, not just flatulence. Does his reputation and rows with the BBC change that? I don't think so. If I misinterpreted your synopsis, mea culpa. Eddie continues: > The second programme, Final Solution is an independent production by Rakesh Sharma which took over two years to make and was then banned by the BJP. This was finally lifted around the time of the Elections. There have been waves of media publicity about this film. Where have you been? > Mario replies: Godhra was a blot on recent Indian communal history. It probably led to the BJP losing the next national elections because people were reminded that they were really Hindu supremacists at heart. This atrocity was the exception, not the rule. India is trying hard to get it behind them. Why is the BBC picking at this scab with shows with incendiary titles like Final Solution, harking back to the Nazis? Stop being so gullible regarding the BBC. This is no longer the high-minded, trustworthy Beeb of a generation ago, but is now a subtle proponent of mostly left-wing propaganda.
