Nasci, I suggest you read what you wrote a couple of days ago, one more time. You admitted quite explicitly that you believe Hinduism and the ancient Indian heritage to be evil, in response to a direct question from me. Here are the relevant quotes for your convenience: Santosh says: >I guess you have to decide what exactly it is that you >are railing against. Are you railing against casteism, >Hinduism, our ancient Indian heritage or the Hindutva >ideology of some fundamentalist Hindu zealots of >today? Please let me know which one of these things >you consider to be evil. Nasci says: >Its all of these things; they are surely interlinked >and have evolved that way over the centuries. That's >why reform and a near "cultural revolution" is >required; if the perpetrators don't agree to change >willingly. > I am sure you don't want to come across as dishonest, in addition to being prejudiced. So I ask you again, to give you a chance to clarify your position or change it. Do you believe that Hinduism and ancient Indian heritage are evil? > >Perhaps you are examining some sort of guilt >conscience? > What exactly is it that you think I am guilty of? Of being born in a Hindu family? Of being opposed to your just fight against Hinduism and the ancient Indian heritage? Of not converting to Christianity or Buddhism? > >I only equate extremism with BJP, VHP and Bajrang >DaL and whatever. > It is not very apparent to me that you separate these extremists from the rest of the Indians who are not Christians. What you write smacks of blatant prejudice of essentially the same type as casteism and racism, in your case, directed towards Hindus and the ancient Indian heritage, in general. > >But u surely can't deny all hindus and the 'real >hindus'practice caste/ Racism; and protect their caste >identity vehemently. > I can certainly deny that all Hindus practice casteism or racism. There are many who have renounced casteist prejudice. Some have also renounced all practices even remotely related to the caste system. What I cannot deny is that a significant majority of them do practice a few customs stemming from casteism. I also submit to you that a large percentage of Indian Christians also practice casteism, and a comparably large percentage of Christians in the rest of the world practice racism. Some of them also practice religious and ethnic intolerance like you. > >How many hindus can u enumerate, who have or are even >willing to renounce their cateism and which is >racism?? > There is not a single person from a Hindu family that I know who is willing to openly defend the caste system. But it is true that most of them have not given up casteism entirely, primarily in the sense that they do not want their kids to marry outside their caste. The latter is also true with regard to white-on-black racism in the U.S. among Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc. The sighting of a black-white couple is exceedingly rare, especially in the South. So this type of discrimination is not unique to the Hindu community or to India. Do white Australians marry the aborigines a lot? Do they marry Indians? I can enumerate several famous Hindus and Hindu reformers who renounced the caste system, and fought to eliminate it. I know quite a few ordinary people who have married outside their caste, if that should be taken as a litmus test for the complete renunciation of this type of bigotry. Cheers, Santosh
