Prime Minister leaves for Delhi: [India News]: Pune, Mar 18 : Cutting short his two-day visit to Maharashtra, in view of political developments at Delhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tonight flew back in a special aircraft after participating in a string of functions during a packed schedule during his seven hours stay in the city. Singh had to leave for Delhi in view of a special sitting of both houses of Parliament that has been convened on Saturday to discuss the post President's rule situation in Goa and a whip has been issued, asking Congress members to remain present in the proceedings. The Prime Minister who arrived here at about 1640 hours left for Delhi at 2340 hours and was seen off at the airport by Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna, Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh among others, police said. During his visit, the Prime Minister interacted with Congress workers at the party unit headquarters, attended the diamond jubilee celebrations of Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, held discussions with Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and inaugurated the website of Agro1, a daily newspaper on agriculture to be launched next month by the Sakal Group.
