RESPONSE: In 1974 I had obtained a permit and it stated that the amount permitted was 2 Quarts. I was searched, I was carrying 4 bottles. I refused to get off the Bus, travelling from Goa to Bombay and insisted one quart was two pints -( two bottles). The policeman insisted that it meant a quarter bottle.
