Today's HERALD had an excellent op-ed piece by V.M.de Malar, (reportedly a
goanetter) titled "Oil well on the coastline?" In it he writes:

<There are all kinds of lessons we should learn from this episode ...
Finally, we are pathetically under-prepared for the inevitable ---- the
minimal defenses that can be mustered for eventualities like this didnt even
come from Goa. The incessant (ocean) traffic is here, the hugely expanding
tourism is here, why arent the Dorniers based right here?>

Is the mindless configuration of Dabolim airport at the root of this totally
farcical situation? :(
