The original email of deliberate ambushes by AIDS activists has been acknowledged to have been questionable. However, Gabriel and Viviana have reported credible cases of infected needles being found in public places. Who cares whether these incidents are intentional or unintentional? The issue is that they are a hazard. Yet, these are curiously being met with furious and sarcastic responses ridiculing the common sense warnings to keep an eye out for these.
"Not one reported case of anyone contracting AIDS from an infected needle in a public place" thunders Santosh, the intrepid researcher indignantly, failing to mention that physicians and nurses have been infected by unintentional slips of syringes and scalpels, which is a small step away from being infected by an infected needle in a public place. Fair enough. I don't doubt Santosh is right. But is he relevent? So, who wants to be the first innocent person infected by a needle in a public place to satisfy Santosh's fastidious research-based knowledge? His bosom buddy, Jose Colaco, allegedly a physician, chimes in with his patented insinuation that HE and his buddy, Santosh, are veritable fountains of truth. THEY are scientists, you understand. He takes this as an opportunity to heap added ridicule, and takes it a step further by accusing me, Gabriel and Viviana of being dishonest, and "inspiring copy cats". Ooooh! Now WE are the problem! For what? For the diabolical and nefarious suggestion that people watch their behinds when sitting in a public place. Shame on us!!! How callous and insensitive can we be for putting such dangerous ideas in the minds of the AIDS infected drug users on Goanet?
