If you can't grow horizontally, then growing vertically must be the way. Back then, it was the Americans - or more so, the New Yorkers, who came up with the idea of making the most of whatever little space there was, in a tiny area named Manhattan. And so, skyscrappers were born.
But these days, it appears that Asians are battling each other for the title of having the tallest building in the world in their corner.
