By George! I am talking of compulsory use of external trapments by some persons in the name of religion, in public places. The popes funeral was essentially a religious service, and also within the grounds of the Vatican! All the different reps of their religions/ countries wore their own at the service which was catholic and there were no bans or cumpulsions to confirm, with catholic customs. The christian clergy will not demand to wear their cassocks etc. in case they have to work as 'driver' for public transport! Will they?
Sikhs demanding to wear turbans instead of hats prescribed as uniform for all drivers etc.; and muslim persons wearing headgear and clothes contrary to prescribed uniforms in public schools and campuses; is certainly a different matter, I'm sure you and others like you will agree. This is all that I am trying to say. Wanting to be different and not confirming to the norm is a public atrocity! This also does not help towards maintaining 'communal harmony'.
