The American Psychiatric Association is a professional organization that issues recommendations and guidelines for psychiatrists and mental health professionals around the world, after thorough review of all scholarly research in any given area. It publishes a Diagnostic and Statistical Manual on mental illness, which informs and guides the practice of psychiatry all over the world. It is unlikely that the Catholic Church and its hierarchy know more about human psychology and mental illness than the distinguished professionals who sit on the expert panels of the American Psychiatric Association. Almost all psychiatric and other mental health organizations in other countries are in agreement with the American Psychiatric Association on the subject of homosexuality. Cheers, Santosh
