Dear Kevin, Whatever may be the topic being discussed, let us respect the opinions of others. You may give your opinion, but do not mock at others, thus encroaching upon human rights. Those who believe in God have the same rights as you have. The theists are not "fearful of God". God is love (1 Jn 4:8, cf.Jn 3:16). We Christians know why we believe. Faith is not superstition. You are free to believe that your parents "created God", while we believe that God "created" the Universe, without "any interests in self-preservation" (you know it, in spite of persecution of Christian people). You may laugh at us, we do not laugh at you but pray that you may come to the true Faith, in which your parents have brought you up. It may be non-sense for you now, it was not for your parents nor is for us in the twenty-first century. You may continue to be creative in your thinking, without falling into another non-sense. Give us the same rights, namely to search and know where the Truth is...
Ivo da C.Souza --------Original Message ------- The subject line is one of my favourite descriptions of our homeland, Goa. Obviously, the current debate on the Church and it's stand on homosexuality, same sex marriages, deviant behaviour and celibacy is a hot topic. But why on GoaNet? Because a vast majority of the members of this list have been deeply influenced by the centuries of religious domination by the Portugese colonial rule and were fearful of gods even before our conversion to Catholicism.
