Fr Ivo, When in a post on the issue of caste you said that caste was a sin, that was good enough for me, especially, when another well known ex-priest, who should have know better, extolled the virtues of caste explicitly and implicitly in his posts. You thus engaged, albeit very briefly, in our discussion on caste. What you said in the context was significant to me even if it upset at least one regular contributor to Goanet posts who tried to 'reprimand' you for effectively supporting the anti-casteist position.
On your view that homosexuality is an abberation, I am afraid we have to disagree profoundly on this issue on the basis of much thought and available evidence. Finally, I want to congratulate Kevin Saldanha for elaborating on his position regarding faith and religions. He echoes much of my own stance on these issues and I am aware that there are many others who feel/think the same way. I feel that most people who are religious are people of the Book e.g. the Bible, Koran etc. It takes much courage, reflection and insight to question received historical and cultural wisdom inculcated soon after birth. However, if one is to respect Kevin's position, he and I have to respect others, who in all sincerity, are believers in a supernatural God. Cornel ----- Original Message ----- From: "Fr. Ivo Da C.
