Your birth Certificates may not be found or issued at your usual Offices of
Registrar of Births & Deaths. You may now have to go to Panaji/Altinho
Directorate
of Archive.
It will be more expensive now as travelling cost increases. Even more expensive
to
those people travelling from Canacona etc. Plus there is no guarantee that you
will
get your certificate issued same day.
Talukas so far affected are Mormugoa, Canacona etc
Please enquire before you go, as i think, all records (except marriage) upto
1970 is
being shifted to Altinho.
NRIs, you may need birth certificates for applying Dual citizenship etc hence
this
is sent in the interest of all.
And if you had to spent one whole day there, then dont forget to come and join
me
for a simple lunch (Sourak or Sorak) i just live down the hill (Miramar).
