Rabid fanatics exist in all religions, Catholic,
Hindu,
Moslem etc. These are the fringe elements who are so
brainwashed that they cannot accept anything except
their narrowminded beliefs.
Thank God (as one who believes in a God), that most
people see through these fanatics, and ignore them.
History is replete with atrocities commited in the
name of religion by all religious groups. So let us
not have an holier than thou attitude.
Some people believe in Goa and some do not. Some of
my best friends do not believe in God. We do not
impose our views and our convictions on each other.
Religion is a very personal matter. Some call
themselves Cafeteria Catholics. These are probably
people who rationalize and use their God-given senses
to make sense of what is spouted by brain-washed
lunatics. In school in Belgaum, we had a speaker who
much to the consternation of the Priests who ran the
school, made the remark that just as all rivers lead
to the sea, all religions lead to God. I strongly
believe this. One does not have to belong to any
particular religion to go to Heaven. Our conscience
guides us. Those who want, go ahead and stone me !!!
