Actually, the crux of the problem is treating the above people as the elite. They are not the elite. They have contributed very little to the advancement of our society. They have thrived by being parasitic to our goodwill and gullibility. But more importantly, the tacit or explicit recognition of the need for an elite class in any society is misguided, whether it is based on wealth, intellect, knowledge or inheritance. Only individual achievements should be recognized. Only individuals should be respected and used as role models for their excellence, irrespective of which social class and walk of life they belong.
