Cornel, "Canuck" is now "name-calling"? Au contraire, mon ami. Wherever did you get the notion that the word "Canuck" is derogatory? It is no more derogatory than the word "Brit".
If you use "Canuck" in your favorite search engine you will see for yourself. There is even a major professional ice-hockey team in Canada called the Vancouver Canucks. Surely a professional sports team would not call itself derogatory "names"! I use the term "The People's Republic of Canuckistan" affectionately, because of Canada's great pride at evolving into a socialist-style economy, a la the great and now defunct Soviet Socialist Republics of yore. Just a little good-natured ribbing among neighbors. In return they accuse us of terrorizing Saddam Hussain. Now, that's REAL name-calling.
