Vasco stun East Bengal 3-1, finish the league in the 10th position.

Inspired by Anthony Pereira's double along with excellent performance by 
Brazilian striker Flavio, Vasco stunned East Bengal 3-1. 

Vasco took the lead in the 22nd minute when Pereira scored from a goalmouth 
melee. Following a corner, the ball fell into the box, with a number of players 
standing near. In the confusion, Anthony reached the ball before East Bengal 
defenders Selwyn Fernandes and Debjit Ghosh and lobbed it into the net, giving 
no chance to custodian Sangram Mukherjee.

And as the young Vasco side grew in confidence..........



DEMPO SPORTS CLUB wins the 9th ONGC Cup National Football League. The victory 
at the Tilak Maidan, Vasco, Goa was a romantic ending to a campaign that 
started with grief of loss of beloved Cristiano Junior. And today Dempo played 
with what coach Armando Colaco described as 'divine help from Cristiano Junior' 
to outclass Tollygunge Aggragami 2-0 and lift their maiden National League 
title...........
