I was very disturbed that you, as an intelligent individual, could not
decipher why God is referred to as �Father� by Catholics. With your pointed
questions and implicit inferences you depict the Catholic Church as
�sexist�. I was equally but emphatically dismayed by the fact that you
added the race color to it, thus depicting the Church as �racist.� Further,
to add insult to injury, somewhere along the line you compared the Catholic
Church to the �Taliban�.

On George�s �fact-based� mission and contention: Isn�t George�s �pro-Church�
stance overwhelming �even as he equates the Church to the Taliban? Believe
this is one of George�s logical and �fact-based� bashings? Do we see the
implied abuse here?
Your animosity and vendetta against the Church and Vatican is rampant; by
your own admission, and through your occasional/partial disclosures you
demonstrate just that:

In almost all your posts, on the subject, you have specifically targeted the
Catholic Church �and spared no effort to show the Church in bad light. Did
you ever make an attempt to have a balanced (unbiased) view, and tell your
audience/s that the Church has also significantly contributed for the good
of humanity worldwide? Not that Catholics need to know, but guess it would
be ethically proper to equitably portray all the facts.

name-calling and personal attacks: If calling you a Professor (of Ethics),
and an intelligent individual offended you, pray tell me how may I address
you in a more polite or pleasing fashion?

I could not understand if you were asking the former question liken to the
innocence of a child or as a theologian? In both cases you will find the
answer in the Bible � for in several places in the Bible, Jesus refers to
God as �Father�. The rest I leave to your own interpretation, (imagination)
or better judgment.
The fact of pedophile priests is not my creation. I offer my opinions.<
Neither is the Church in the business of creating pedophiles, nor is it
(Church) promoting the same. Pedophiles exist in other denominations,
religions, and nations as well. Singling out the Catholic Church for a
severe public bashing isn�t right. Undoubtedly, the Priests should be held
to higher standards and discipline. Also, pedophile priests are subjected
to the same state laws and punishment that exists for others, and are
therefore meted with similar treatment. I don�t see it as being otherwise.
Yes, there have been some �bad apples� within the Church, but that does not
mean that we paint all the rest of the priests with the same brush.
Needless to say, the horrific acts perpetuated by these priests are
condemnable and inexcusable. I don�t think the Vatican is covering up this
stigma, but is finding ways to remedy the situation.
There are many strings on a guitar. To make beautiful music all of them must
be played and not just one. So too, one may not criticize the Church on a
selective and biased basis; it�s only fair that you touch or consider all
aspects of the Church and for what it stands.
