No my dears:
Fr. Agnelo died at Rachol seminary but not whilest saying Mass.
He had been bedridden and during the last days unconcious.
His Anjuna co-villager, and proteg, Pe. Faustino de Sousa, who is
awaiting being declared VENERABLE, used to tell the anecdote that
on being instructed to maintain silence because he was ill, the intrepid
boys replied: The night is for silence, not the day.

Did you know Fr.Agnelo was first buried there (at Raitura Cemetery)? I think
he remained buried there for about 11 years.
His mortal remains were then shifted to Pilar"

So was St. Francisco Xavier, first at Satsewan and then in Malacca before
being translated to Goa.

So was St Anthony da Padva and countless legion other saints, burried
severally. First also in Padua and then, after the completion of the grand
cathedral in his honour, translated therein.

Quite a few, like the Apostle St.James/Santiago, the Greater is believed to
be lyiing (his relics) in Compostella, Spain as well as sundry other locations.

No wonder the Vatican are ignoring our pleas to make him a saint or a blessed,
coz we don't even know where he was buried.
We only go to Pilar for favours. (wrong place to go to).

Irrelevant. Many hundreds of candidates for sainthood are awaiting cannonization since centuries earlier than even the Bl. Jose Vaz, the Patron of Goa Archdiocese
and of CGN.

Goa's only martyrs (and, the first ever jesuit martyrs) Bl. Rudolf Aquavivva and companios, died in mid- sixteenth century and were beatified, if I am not mistaken, before Pe. Vaz's and
Pe. Agnelo's lifetime. Can check up if you wish me to.

And many more have been kept waiting centuries to be eklevated to the honours of the Altar.

However, dear Afra, you can help very much by your paryers for his expedited Beatification.

He has to be beatified you know, before the next and loftiest step.

At least one recorded, verifiable miracle is essentially required prior to each step.

Not just recovering a lost hair-pin or a kitten. Something more edifying.

Sincerely,

But do
Afra Dias (london)
