What a beautiful, heart-tugging story The Vow is.. So much depth and lucidity in expressing the old man's anguish and longing for his son, ad also the reaching out and response of the Padre to those emotions of Camil. In fact you yourself feel like reaching out and hugging Camil to comfort him. One read through the story half expecting that the Padre would in fact turn out to be Jose, but the ending of the story is unexpected and novel, leaving one happy that Camil's faith was not betrayed.
