Directives to school heads on students bringing vehicles

The state government has directed the authorities of schools
in Goa to ensure that students be refrained from bringing vehicles
to the school without a valid driving licence.
In its order, the state administration stated that the concerned
headmaster and principal shall be held personally liable for
violating the directives.
The government has expressed anguish that the number
of the school-going children, in the age of group of 18 or
below and who are not legally authorised to drive two-wheelers,
come to the school with two-wheelers without having valid
driving licence.
In case any student brings a vehicle without valid licence to
the school, the order empowers the school authorities to
detain the same and handover it to the parents of the respective
students. However, if the student repeats the same, the vehicle
should be handed over to the police, it added further.
