Dear Mr. Jerome, Kindly ask Mr. Colin Fernandes to read the booklet Dr. Teotonio Sousa from Moira who wrote during the centenary time of their Church of Immaculate Conception a few years back giving information on the village of Moira.. Regarding baptism certificates Mr. Colin Fernandes has to meet the clerk or parish priest in the Church. at Moira,, during office hours, Monday to Saturday. Also the Communidade Office is located in Moira, but they have specific dates. In the Church the baptism books are probably rom1860( 1860 to 1913 )in summery form and from 1914 till date in detail form One can get marriage and death records too in the Church., Also in Mapuca , Civil Register Office you can gets all dates of births , marriages and deathsprior to 1961, some in Panjim Archives. at panjin especially old records. After liberation(1961), they must be in the Panchayat Office in Moira( only births & deaths, marriages in Mapuca, Registo Civil office) The Communidade Books in Moira,( near the church.) are there They have specific days when it opens. He can try also in Mapuca( Comunidade de Bardez) and Historical Archives of Goa( HAG), Rua de Ourem, Panjim, Goa, to get ganvkars names. I would advise him to visit Mr. Jose or Joseph de Melo in Povoasanv, Moira. He is knowlegable and he would indicate other right persons from Moira, to find other persons helpful in his case. Also Dr. Teotonio de Souza could be contacted in Lisbon, Portugal through e-mail. Probably Mr. Jose de Melo will have Dr. Teotonio' e-mail.
