Cornel, I'm sorry, my mistake. Mea maxima culpa. Let me review where I went wrong.
What you actually said was, "P.S. You do have the intellectual in you on some counts I must admit e.g. caste. However, it is generally accepted that the role of the intellectual is to be a critic of his society. Yet I have not noticed a single iota of this ingredient in you re. your chosen homeland of the USA. Are we missing something?" I get it, you first nominated me as an intellectual - perish the thought - on the issue of caste where we agree, then tried to either insult me or dilute my perceived intellect by alleging that I was not a critic of my society. First of all, an anti-American Goan trying to insult me in such puerile fashion is like being called ugly by a frog. Secondly, I guess I have had little time to criticize my society because I spend so much time defending it against the bogus allegations and falsehoods levied by the small army of determined anti-American Goans, many of whom who were denied residency here, and none of whom meet your criterion above for being an intellectual, which makes it easy for me to deal with all of them singlehandedly. However, since you asked, I subsequently decided to humor you by posting a multi-part critique of my society, and I now demand you restore my title of intellectual, which I will then reject. Notice that I am not asking any of you anti-American Goans to critique your societies, for obvious reasons. --- cornel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Mario, > Please illustrate to me where I have claimed that I > am an intellectual. > Cornel
