To, Mr. Pratapsing Raoji Rane, Hon'ble Chief/Home Minister of Goa, Old Secretariat, Panjim-Goa. Dear Mr. Rane, Subject: Open Letter Underlining Goa's Two Important Issues. Greetings and salutations to you on being elevated to the Chief Minister's position of Goa for the 7th. time since its Liberation in 1961. Now that the new coalition government has been formed under your stewardship and under the banner of 'secularism', though many may question the secular credentials of the Congress party you belong to, for its past acts and omissions in Ayodhya, as well as in other instances, Goans would still like to give the benefit of the doubt to this government and observe very closely, what measures this government will take with respect to the transfer of the government primary schools by the previous RSS-BJP government of Mr. Manohar Parrikar to 'Vidhya Bharati', its own 'Parivar' institution, where the RSS propaganda and communal venom is being infused in the young goan minds, to stop and neutralize such noxious and destructive use of government infrastructure to push their own narrow agenda. Similarly, the people of Goa will also be watching whether this government will look into the recruitments made by the said previous government, especially in the 'police force', as well as in other government departments, whether the statement made by Mr. Manohar Parrikar that there were not sufficient applications from the so called minority communities of Goa are substantiated, and what steps it will take to undo the one-sided and communally motivated recruitments of the previous government. Goa Su-Raj Party for one will not allow this government to sweep these issues under the carpet for, whilst the Congress was in the opposition, it raised its condemnatory voice, as did this party, against the policies of the RSS-BJP government with regard to the said issues. You, Mr. Rane, have already made a statement that this government will not start a 'witch-hunt' ... Is this a signal to the Goan people who have voted this government to power in an 'anti-RSS-BJP wave' that this government will do nothing about the issues mentioned above? We must remind you Mr. Rane, that Goa has always looked upon you as a staunchly secular Hindu amongst the majority 'staunchly secular Hindu community' of Goa. And we must also remind you that the rest of the community will also be closely watching the direction in which your government is moving. We will be awaiting your reply. Sincerely, Sd/- Floriano Lobo President Goa Su-Raj Party. Copy to: TheGovernor, Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula - Goa.
