Sorry to butt in, but methinks the issues in India are myriad, as many major Indian languages have their own script. There is no standardised script in use throughout India. Devnagiri is not well accepted in South India. Ever tried reading the name of a street or destination in Karnataka? As to Chinese and Japanese, there's just my limited knowledge tells me there's just a handful of scripts - please correct me should I be incorrect in my assumptions. Cheers, Gabriel de Figueiredo.
