Hi Gabe: This has been said many times in the past; I've only put together all the many points -- in individual emails and via the list -- made by Bosco D'Mello and the announcements made by Herman Carneiro (about Goanet's new site, the Paypal option of making donations on www.goanet.org etc). May I also underline here that the appeal is *for* Goanet, and not for the individuals who volunteer their time on Goanet. Funds, if any received, will go into building up Goanet. This appeal has been made, albeit more politely, in the past. I think there were 2-3 responses! But then, we are Goans. High on talk; low on action. Arrogant (just read this email!) and always out to cut each other to size, and trip each other up! Anyway, our volunteer-based and participative model allows Goanet to survive (and thrive). But perhaps it's time for the "hard hitters", as you call them, to realise that running operations such as these involves costs (servers, web-design, mailing-lists set-ups), which have been coming borne largely by Herman. And, of course, your donation need not be small ;-) FN
