You didn't get what I meant. I have no objection to someone mentioning their skin colour in a matrimonial advert. What I was questioning is the necessity of using the word 'Single" (as in SWM or SWF). Isn't it rather obvious in a monogamous society that the person seeking a spouse will be single?

1) Why would a married woman or man be speaking a spouse? We were discussing matrimonial advertisements and not swinging or dating personals.

2) In the West you simplify everything into White, Black or Coloured. How limited. Here in India we have various shades of brown. These complexions I have described separately.
