As the saying goes, "You can take the Goan out of Goa, but you can't take Goa out of the Goan." So there are all kinds around here.
There are some really good, friendly people on Goanet, like Cynthia for example, and Viviana, who is also a Goanet moderator, which means she gets to reject offensive posts, and Fr. Ivo who has become somewhat of an expert in the difference between science and religion. But some of us are Martians, so feel free to flush us into deep cyberspace with lavish use of your delete button. The problem is that this is a public, free-for-all forum, so it is topics that move us as individuals that generate the most heat if not light. There are some who post stuff, and no one may be interested in that topic, so one needs a somewhat rhino skin to deal with that. My suggestion is to take the initiative and post something that interests you and see what happens. You can't go wrong here if you have some comments or need some help with questions and issues about Goa or some other part of the world where we may have members. If you like what someone says, you have the option of communicating with them directly as well. I know some people who have become close friends through Goanet, and have met each other when their paths have crossed. Good luck.
