I am Glad that so many of our Goanetters have spoken ! I have known Vivian for nearly as many years as i have been on this planet , he has and continues to work for the Goan Community wherever that may be. He is the past General Secretary of The Dar es Salaam Institute -(formerly Goan Institute ) having spent most his daylight hours running the affairs of the club. I believe that he has eloquently expressed himself and said what I have been unable to put into words. I am also glad that Victor , Santosh , Mario , Seb , George , Edward and many others who have come out in support of the Goanet Admin , they have shared with us their thoughts , its now for the majority of us to support the Goanet admin in how they run this egroup and let us move forward. It is a shame that we have just a handful of Goans and Friends of Goa ( FOG ) who make posts on this forum and express their thoughts on how this egroup should be run.We need a consensus - that will strengthen the hands of the Goanet Admin. on how they need to run this Goanet organization. Mere words will not help us , we need ACTION , as we have heard from so many of us here and every where in the world ...the people are just TIRED of words...and as Nelson Mandela said - a few days ago .. ...* We are HUNGRY FOR ACTION ! and so should all of us ...WHO care for Goa and Goans. I have often been reminded that - what one does for the community one does it for himself... I will share with you in the coming days of what ACTION our WORLD GOAN ORGANIZATIONS are planing for WORLD GOA DAY ....YOU too have a choice to JOIN the celebrations. I do not have an Internet connection at home as yest ( 2 months ) , I do therefore apologize to the many of you who may have not received a reply to your emails to me. i will asp. I am pleased to inform you that Goanet will once again support WORLD GOA DAY , I also hope that other Goan Organizations will extend their support and work in partnership.We canot afford to work alone , we need partnership , togetherness , unity and everything that brings TOGETHER. I am also pleased to share with you all that We are recommending that all participants of WGD - support the Goanet and BSG partnership idea of * PLANT A TREE * We are suggesting that all WGD functions should begin by a TREE PLANTING ceremony ....Goans of Texas had such a ceremony two years ago , they had a mango sapling which they planted at the WGD event !, I wonder if Santosh or some one else from that part of the world can share their thoughts on that event ?
