A few days ago I came across a post made in April of this year by Bosco D'Mello.
http://www.goanet.org/pipermail/goanet/2005-April/026729.html It was about my father, the late F.N. Souza, and so I read it with interest. I appreciate the rememberance my father's 81st birthday, and the links that reference his Estate, http://fnsouza.info However, it is completely untrue that Ms. Srimati Lal is the curator for Souza's Estate, as Bosco D'Mello stated in his post. The information, which he could only have obtained from Ms. Lal's website is spurious. The sole authorities for all legal matters pertaining to F.N. Souza, including copyright to reproduce his images, and sale of work from his Estate, are myself and our attorney, Jeffrey S. Greener, Esq., of Friedberg, Greener, Cohen, LLP, New York. Relevant contact information is on the Estate's home page at: http://fnsouza.info The documents appointing Mr. Greener and myself to adminster Souza's Estate on behalf of F.N. Souza's beneficiaries, who are his five children, Anya, Francesca, Karen, Patrick and myself (Shelley), are available to the public at New York's Surrogate Court in Manhattan, NY. I believe my sister Francesca wrote to Goanet.org recently, after coming across a post that was made shortly after my father's death. The post reiterated the noticeable absence of Souza's family and close friends at his funeral. However, Francesca's email bounced back to her as undeliverable. The short answer for our absence at our father's funeral is that Ms. Lal told the authorities she did not know the whereabouts of Souza's family, despite having stayed with two of his daughters, Anya and Karen, in London, on three separate occasions, as recently as a few years before Souza's death. By conveniently forgetting this detail of her own history (and therefore my sisters' whereabouts), Ms. Lal was able to bury my father before any family members could be informed with sufficient time to attend the funeral--for reasons intelligent people can surmise without my having to spell them out. On a different note, the Estate is beginning work on the catalogue raissone of Souza's oeuvre. Anyone reading this post who knows collectors who own my father's work, please ask them to contact me. Thank you. Shelley Souza Administrator, Estate of F.N. Souza http://fnsouza.info [EMAIL PROTECTED]
