Sharing a note posted to the Goajourno mailing list. Just been listening to NDTV on radio (yes, it's less distracting to hear it via WorldSpace radio, rather than becoming a prisoner of the images). A story about the Shiv Sena leaders bidding for mills totalling over 400 crores of rupees was an eye-opener.
We all know that Goan politicians too have interests in every racket and lobby in the state -- right from real estate, to trawlers, transport, timber, mining, liquor, etc... So should reporting politics be reduced only to reporting on the statements that politicians make? FN
