i am not asking these postal pin codes all for myself! Certainly not. Most
readers seem to have lost on the 'gist' of my heading and subject.
What I and any resident would like is that these post codes, be made known
and published at every post office in Goa; and more importantly the people
should be told of the purpose of these codes, and to shorten their postal
addresses accordingly, by using the codes and avoiding all un required
information in the addresses. This can be done, first by publishing the
codes locally and educating the people about their use; and encouraging and
evntually making it mandatory to use the post codes. With this in mind, Goa
codes and all India codes should be made available thru web sites like India
Post. That has been done; but like I pointed out, in another posting, does
not fully cover all the coded post offices, and is probably not being
updated; this updating should be automated for the benefit of all.
Only then will India catch up with the advanced countries, in addressing
decently; and the purpose of introducing the postal codes, will have been
acheived!
