Dr Ambert,
Could you please explain, as to what is meant by 'lan card' thru which you
get your broadband internet, and without a phone line??
I have a broadband PPPOE conection which is a LAN or a WAN network (no
appreciable difference)from the Exchange, and thru the phone line. Besides
the higher connection speed, which is 100 mbps, I get use of my phone
equipment all the time, as well. ( a filter is used with every phone, to
filter out the noise frequencies) Speeds and size of downloads and rates etc
are local based and negotiable; that's Ok; but I need to know about this
'lan card'. Thank you!

Hey Fred,
I am using a Sify broadband unlimited broadband connection in Margao ,
costing 699/- per month connected 24 hrs with no phone line ( its a direct
connection to your lan card). Its Brilliant !
In Calangute I use Tata Indicom Walky . Its a wireless net connection ,
quite expensive Rs 1,500/- p.m unlimited use, no phone bills .
