Hello Everyone,

Goa is engulfed with so many problems in the day to day living, that people seem to have forgotten about the 'River Princess' lying off Candolim Beach and continuing to cause so much anguish not only to the residents and visitors to this tourist area, but to the whole of Goa.

Lots of scams and unsincere efforts have been made to refloat this ship and take it away, but to no avail. Is this the Capability and Efficiency of Goa/India ? Is this not a shame?

My challenge now turns to the Indian Navy; Let the Navy show their prowess and capability by simply taking over this not too big job, and prove their worth.

The Naval Establishment has all the Navigion and Ship Masters and Marine Engineers and Naval Architects and millions of Artificers (Technicians and Trades persons) on their payroll. By undertaking this 'project' the Navy will have gained a lot of practical expertise and experience; and after successfully executing this project: "Removal of the River Princess" and towing it to where required, the Navy will have truly won the admiration and the hearts of the Indian Nation.

Most of the great Navies of the world have this and such capabilities. Does the Indian Navy have it? If yes, then why not use the same in this case? If not, then why not acquire this capability with your own inner strenght? Start with this 'River Princess, to begin with. Indians and the world, only hear of acquisitions of costly equipment and aircraft etc. and Blue Water Navy, and other grandiose schemes and training programmes etc. and hardly see any actual achievement. Is the Naval Authority satisfied with this state of affairs? If not, then do something skillful in practice and show your mettle. Ship Salvage is a requirement and wanted Skill of any Navy that can be proud of itself. What if one of the Navy's own ships were to run aground, this way. Wouldn't this sort of expertise and experience be really usefull?

C'mon! Shed all those Mr Tuxedo Dinners with inebrieting subsidised Rum, and put on your work clothes for once, and get on to this job; put all those 'Salutes' and 'Rank' stuff to the sideline to where it belongs; encourage a combined effort by Officers and Ratings and achieve something, to be proud off. Will the Navy accept this Challenge and for free! No buck should be passed on to the state, Goa or Delhi. C'mon do it and Shine!

I do sincerely hope The Indian Navy will do us proud! Jai Bharat! Viva Goa!
