Hi Fred, You know it very well but will not spell it out. Here it is: GOANS ARE NOT AS COOPERATIVE AS THE SIKH COMMUNITY. I went to a Goan FEAST party the other day and no one would talk to me because I did not come from their village. They were mostly from East Africa migrated to UK, they look down on Goans who come directly from India, and call them butlers and waiters. This sort of mantality does not help when it comes to developing our selves let alone community. Afra. (London)
Fred said, "Interesting! Goa may not have the migratory numbers when compared to other states like the Punjab, Gujarat, Andhra or Kerala. But people from Goa too have played pioneering roles (sometimes controversial, at other times immensely positive) in places like East Africa, the Persian Gulf when people still lived in tents and recall drinking sandy water, Burma, and cities like Karachi. So why are Goans simply so invisible in history? Is it that their tale has not been told? How do we change this situation? Can the Internet help? Questions, questions....
