I agree strongly with Mario Goveia's comments about Indian American immigrants, who are among the most successful groups in the United States, through their own hard work. I have yet to come across a single Goan family who has emigrated to the USA, who after a few years, has not achieved at least middle class status, owning homes, cars etc. Every Goan child that I have encountered in the USA has studied well and has done very well in their career. I am sure there may be exceptions to my observations, but I am equally sure that they are rare. Part of our success comes from the fact that we have pride in ourselves, we have come from countries where we had fewer opportunities. Here in the USA we can reach for the sky. I am also convinced that anybody in American can become a millionaire or billionaire, if they are willing to pay the price - which may be less time with the family, taking financial risks etc.
