Railways to deploy x-ray machines Press Trust Of India / New Delhi August 19, 2005 In a bid to check terrorist activities, the Railways are considering installation of x-ray machines at the stations to check baggage, in line with airline operations, minister of state for Railways, R Velu said. Velu added that anti-collision devices (ACD) had been installed on the broad guage section of north east frontier and the Konkan railway, with a view to curb rail mishaps. The minister also said that the device was an Indian product, developed by the Konkan Railway Corporation and was being manufactured at their outsourced unit at Hyderabad, using imported components and modules.
